Decorative Red Dragon Samurai Sword Set with Display Stand

Symbolism and Historical Legacy

During feudal Japan, samurai traditionally wore a pair of swords called a daisho (literally "big and small"), consisting of a katana and a wakizashi. This pair was a symbol of their social status and honour. The short tanto dagger served as a backup weapon for close combat or ritual purposes. Although this is a modern replica, the set faithfully captures the proportions and visual style of these legendary weapons. The decorative metal handguard (tsuba) and pommel cap (kashira) add an extra touch of authenticity to the display.

Important Safety Warnings

The blades of these swords are made of carbon steel. However, given the overall construction and hilt assembly, we must strongly advise you that these are strictly decorative items. These swords are not intended for practical use. Under no circumstances should they be used for martial arts training (Iaido, Kendo), contact fencing, or cutting tests (tameshigiri). Striking a solid object could cause the blade to loosen or snap, potentially leading to serious injury to yourself or bystanders. The set is designed solely for safe exhibition on the provided display stand.

Essential Care for Carbon Steel

Because the blades are made from carbon steel (it is not maintenance-free stainless steel), they are susceptible to rust. To keep your swords looking beautiful and shiny, they require regular care. Never touch the blades with your bare hands, as human sweat is highly corrosive. After drawing a sword from its scabbard, wipe the blade with a soft, dry cloth and apply a light coat of suitable oil (we recommend traditional Choji clove oil or a high-quality gun oil). The wooden lacquered scabbards only need an occasional light dusting with a microfibre cloth.
