The head is crafted from high carbon steel and requires basic maintenance. Keep it dry and regularly conserve it with oil to prevent corrosion. The product is coated from the factory with a layer of protective oil, which can be easily wiped off with a cloth.
Mounting: A Danish axe requires a long haft (typically 4-5.5 ft or 120-170 cm) for proper two-handed use. Choose a high-quality, strong wood, ideally ash. Ensure the head is mounted securely and without any play. Given the power of this weapon, a proper fit is crucial for safety.

The edge is approximately 1.5 mm thick, which makes it sharp. Once mounted on a shaft, it becomes an extremely dangerous weapon.
