Appearance and Construction:

The gorget features a shiny, polished surface, giving it an authentic look. It is crafted from sturdy steel plate, approximately 1.6 mm (16 gauge) thick, ensuring solid protection. The standing collar itself is assembled from thinner lames (approx. 1.0 mm thick), which are loosely riveted at the sides. This allows the lames to partially slide into each other when you move your head, granting you better neck mobility. The entire gorget is adorned with brass rivets – you'll find them on the front, back, and on the lames of the standing collar. Furthermore, the edges are highlighted with a tasteful roped pattern along the rolled edges.

Fitting and Dimensions:

Putting it on is straightforward. The gorget is loosely riveted on one side, allowing you to easily open it, place it around your neck, and secure it on the other side using a leather strap and buckle. The strap has 5 pre-punched holes for size adjustment. This particular piece is size L, with a neck diameter of approximately 15 cm (approx. 5.9 inches). The front length is roughly 16 cm (approx. 6.3 inches), and the back length is about 15 cm (approx. 5.9 inches). The gorget weighs approximately 1,475 grams (approx. 3.25 lbs). Please note: This model does not feature straps for directly attaching pauldrons.
