Scabbard Throat Made to Measure

The hanger comprises a socket-style scabbard throat (half-scabbard) measuring approximately 35 cm (approx. 13.8 inches) in length and an ingenious strapping system. Fasten the narrower belt tightly at your waist, while the wider belt, serving as the actual hanger, should rest more loosely over your hip. This ideally distributes the weapon's weight, preventing it from obstructing your movement. Before the first use, you must adjust the hanger precisely to your frame. Because the scabbard throat is made to measure, it is essential that you provide the exact blade width of your sword (and blade thickness and a photograph of the guard if it is not straight) and your waist circumference when ordering. The maximum standard length of the belts is 150 cm (approx. 59 inches), but on request, we can produce longer ones.

Safety Notice: For safety reasons, this sword hanger is not suitable for swords with a sharp blade (due to potential danger of injury and cutting through the leather)! It is intended exclusively for blunt practice weapons.

Quality that Lasts

High-quality vegetable-tanned cowhide leather with a thickness of up to 3.5 mm (approx. 0.14 inch) was used for the production of this hanger. The iron buckles are hand-forged, guaranteeing high strength and an authentic appearance. See the detailed photographs of the intricate lacing of the throat and the texture of the forged buckles. Note: This product is hand-crafted from genuine leather. This is a purely natural material. Minor variations in colour and surface texture are natural characteristics and do not reduce the utilitarian value of the product in any way. Each piece is thus, to a certain extent, an original.

As this is natural leather, we recommend regular treatment with quality wax or leather grease to keep it supple and ensure it serves you for a long time. Avoid soaking it and drying it near direct heat sources (radiator). We recommend you combine this hanger with one of our blunt swords for HEMA or stage combat, with which it forms a perfect set.
