This hanger is universal since the scabbard's width is adjustable. The sword frog is made of up to 3.5 mm thick cowhide. It is composed of a suspensory part that is attached by loops to the belt and the half-scabbard that is riveted to the suspensory part.
The half-scabbard is intertwined with a leather string. Loosening or tightening of string adjusts the scabbard to various widths of blades. The maximum width of loops is 4 cm. We can make wider loops to order. Besides the colour shown in the picture the baldric is available in other colours: see the choice of colour.
This sword frog is suitable for 45-55mm wide blades. The scabbard width can be adjusted by means of the leather lacing on the front of the sheath.
Please note: This product is made by hand from genuine leather. This is a purely natural material. Minor differences in the colour and surface texture are its natural characteristics. These small imperfections do not decrease the value of the product. Each piece is to some extent an original.
In the case of hand-forged blade our blacksmith takes the already rolled spring steel and forges it with hand on the anvil or under the monkey (drop hammer). By forging becomes the steel more compacted (denser). Industrially rolled spring steel blades are made by cutting steel plate into strips under drop shears. Then they are ground or milled/grooved and without further forging directly put into the annealing furnace and hardened in oil bath. The qualities of both kinds of blades do not differ from each other much since the industrial rolling is already very good. On forged blades usually have forge traces, which give them an authentic and unique look.
