The Windsong sword is designed to evoke strength and authority. Its most striking feature is undoubtedly the massive crossguard. It is sculpted in the shape of a regal lion's head, flanked by stylised wings that resemble carved stone. The fittings feature an antique finish, giving the weapon the appearance of ancient masonry or tarnished silver, adding an aura of antiquity and magic.

The grip is expertly wrapped in soft, blood-red leather, providing not only a stunning visual contrast but also a firm and secure hold. The pommel corresponds perfectly with the guard, balancing the long blade and improving the handling of this majestic weapon.

Functional Materials and Sharp Blade

Although the design is based on high fantasy, the materials used are purely functional and historically proven. The blade is forged from high-quality 1065 high carbon steel. It features a wide fuller running almost the entire length of the blade, significantly reducing weight while maintaining rigidity. Please note that the blade is supplied sharpened from the factory.

Included with the sword is a matching wooden scabbard covered in the same blood-red leather as the grip. The throat of the scabbard is adorned with a steel medallion featuring a lion's head relief, perfectly complementing the guard.

Usage and Safety

It is important to realise that while this sword is made from real steel, it is primarily a collectible and decorative item or a weapon for cutting practice (tameshigiri) on soft targets. Due to the sharp edge and the specific cast construction of the hilt:

• It is not intended for contact sparring (HEMA, reenactment battles) where blade-on-blade contact occurs. The edge may chip, or the fittings may be damaged.
• Exercise extreme caution when handling; the blade is sharp and can cause serious injury.
• It is ideal for high-end Cosplay (please observe event safety rules regarding live steel), photography, or as the jewel of your home armoury.

Care Instructions

To ensure your Sword of Kings serves you for generations, it requires proper maintenance, just like historical originals:

• Rust Protection: High carbon steel is prone to corrosion. Wipe the blade with a dry cloth after every touch and oil it with a preservative oil (e.g., gun oil or mineral oil).
• Storage: Do not store the sword in the scabbard for long periods, as leather can trap moisture and cause rust.
• Leather Care: Occasionally treat the leather parts of the grip and scabbard with a leather conditioner to keep them supple and prevent cracking.
