Spacious Medieval Suede Leather Belt Pouch
Historical Context And Practical Use
Pockets sewn directly onto clothing, as we know them today, were completely unknown in the Middle Ages for a long time. All personal valuables, coins, fire strikers, or small knives were therefore carried exclusively in pouches and bags suspended from the belt. This is exactly why thieves, historically known as cut-purses, thrived in medieval cities. This pouch model is equipped with a robust leather loop, which makes the thieves' job significantly harder, as it cannot be easily sliced off like a thin cord. The pouch is closed by simply pulling two leather straps together. It is spacious enough for the everyday needs of a modern re-enactor and perfectly complements any historical or fantasy attire.

Suede Care And Safety Warnings
Brushed leather (suede) requires different care than smooth leather. Never use standard shoe polishes or leather balms on this pouch! The leather would lose its characteristic velvety surface and stick together. For cleaning, use exclusively a special rubber suede brush to dry-remove dust and dirt. To protect against moisture, you can treat the pouch with a high-quality waterproofing spray for suede. Never put sharp objects without a sheath into the pouch, as they could easily cut through the soft leather. The pouch is also not designed for storing liquids or loose dyes.
Recommended Accessories
To complement this pouch, we highly recommend purchasing a high-quality long leather belt with a brass buckle and a set of historical replica coins, with which you can stylishly jingle and pay for your mead in the tavern.
