Use and Installation
These furniture hinges are ideal for mounting on wooden surfaces. They are perfectly suited for chest lids, small cabinets, window shutters, or lighter doors and gates in your historical camp. Their design is versatile enough for Gothic, Renaissance, and rustic or fantasy projects.
Installation is straightforward. Each hinge has a total of six pre-drilled holes (three on each arm). For attachment, we recommend using period-appropriate forged nails (clavos) or round-head screws to enhance the ancient look. Please note that installation screws or nails are not included.

For centuries, forged hinges were a key functional and decorative element. Care Instructions
The hinges are made of steel with a blackened finish. To maintain their appearance and protect against rust, simply wipe them occasionally with a lightly oiled cloth (e.g., linseed oil or conservation wax). If you use them outdoors, we recommend performing this maintenance more frequently to prevent surface corrosion. The hinges are not designed to bear extremely heavy loads, such as large driveway gates.
For the perfect look, we recommend pairing these hinges with our hand-forged nails (e.g., SKU 1902001000) or historical hasps and locks.
