
This is a simple, single-edged sword. It may have been used according to light-armed warriors. Basilard of this kind has been a weapon of a common soldier. It was popular in north-west Europe in the 14th and 15th century and in England in the ears 1480-1520. The original template of this weapon is kept in the Royal Armouries in Leeds (www.royalarmouries.org ).
