Decorative Flintlock Pistol Paris 1781: Elegance of the Ancien Régime
The Perfect Accessory for Costume and Collection
This pistol is not just a piece of metal and plastic; it is a ticket to history. The mechanism is fully movable – you can cock the hammer, move the frizzen, and upon pulling the trigger, the hammer strikes (clicks). This adds realism to your role-play without the danger of accidental discharge. The barrel and fittings are made of metal with an antique silver finish and rich relief ornamentation, evoking the luxurious weapons of the Rococo and Neoclassical periods. The stock is made of durable plastic, which faithfully imitates the texture and color of wood. This makes the weapon lighter and more resistant to humidity than cheap wooden variants.
Historically speaking, the year 1781 falls within the reign of Louis XVI, just before the French Revolution. Pistols of this type were a common part of the armament of officers, travelers, and wealthy citizens. The flintlock was the dominant ignition system at the time, working on the principle of flint striking steel. This replica faithfully copies the shape and design of these legendary weapons.

How to Care for Your Replica
To ensure this beautiful model serves you well and looks like new for a long time, give it a little care. Although it is made of a sturdy alloy, I do not recommend excessive "dry firing" to prevent wear on the springs or breaking the hammer due to impact. Wipe the metal parts occasionally with a cloth and a little oil (e.g., WD-40 or gun oil) to protect them from oxidation and preserve their shine. The stock can be simply wiped with a damp cloth.
Keep in mind that this is a decorative item. The material (Zamak) is hard but brittle – dropping it on a hard floor could irreparably damage the weapon. This replica is not designed to be converted into a firearm; the barrel is blocked from the factory, and the material would not withstand the pressure of a shot.
