Narrow Medieval Leather Belt with Gothic Bronze Buckle and Tooling
Historical Context and Fastening Method
During the 15th century, long and narrow belts were worn to cinch tunics, doublets, and heavy outer garments. The narrow profile was highly popular among both men and women, with pouches, daggers, or various small utilitarian items frequently suspended from the belt. A typical feature of the late Gothic and early Renaissance periods was to wear the belt loosely hanging down. Fastening is very simple: you thread the long end of the belt through the massive bronze buckle in the classic way, secure the prong into the appropriate hole, and loop the remaining part of the belt underneath the closed circle. You then let the free end hang elegantly down along your thigh, exactly as depicted in surviving illuminations and paintings.
If you provide us with your waist circumference in the order notes, we will gladly punch five custom holes into the belt for you – two holes before and two holes after your specified measurement, ensuring the belt fits you absolutely perfectly.

Leather Care Instructions
To ensure the leather remains flexible and retains its beautiful appearance for a long time, we recommend regularly treating it with a high-quality leather balm containing beeswax. If you get caught in the rain at an event, let the belt dry slowly at room temperature. Absolutely avoid drying it on a radiator, near an open flame, or in direct sunlight, as the leather could irreversibly dry out, harden, and crack. Please also bear in mind that this belt is handcrafted from a natural material. Slight variations in colour and surface texture are completely natural properties of genuine leather, making every single belt a unique original.
Recommended Accessories
To go with this narrow medieval belt, we highly recommend acquiring a leather pouch in a matching colour and a replica of a medieval rondel dagger with a scabbard. You can easily suspend these from the belt to complete your historical appearance to absolute perfection.
