Scottish Short Sword "Highlander" – Claymore Style
Marks of a True Highlander
Even on this scaled-down version, you will find all the elements that define a Claymore. The dominant feature is the crossguard with quillons sloping towards the blade, ending in typical decorative rings (quatrefoils). Historically, this design was not just for decoration but allowed for trapping the opponent's blade. The grip is decorated with a relief pattern imitating wire wrapping, ensuring an aesthetic look and a firm hold. The pommel is spherical, typical of swords from the 16th and 17th centuries. The 420 stainless steel blade is polished and ends in a sharp point. The sword comes with a black scabbard featuring metal fittings adorned with Celtic engravings.

History and Usage
The name "Claymore" comes from the Gaelic claidheamh-mór, meaning "great sword". The original weapons were two-handed bone-crushers. This replica represents more of a "lesser claymore" or sidearm that a clan chieftain might carry for personal protection in a crush where a long sword would be cumbersome. As this model is made of stainless steel and is not structurally designed for impact (it has a decorative tang), it is intended exclusively for display or as a costume accessory. It is not suitable for fencing or cutting.
Sword Care
Thanks to the 420 stainless steel blade, maintenance is very easy – the sword does not rust as easily as carbon steel. Simply polish it occasionally with a soft cloth to remove dust and fingerprints that could tarnish the shine. If you carry the sword in its scabbard, ensure that no moisture gets inside.
