The period Viking bag was inspired by a bag from the high period of the Viking glory. It comes from northern Denmark (from the Mors region) from the end of the 9th century. The Viking bag with a wrought pin II is worn suspended from the belt via a loop that is attached to the bag's rear side. The bag fits the belt's width of up to 8 cm.
It is made of up to 3 mm thick smooth cowhide. The side parts of the bag are made of up to 1.5 mm thick fine leather. The side parts also serve the function of an expanding pouch (according to the needs of the wearer). The flap and the loop are decorated with an embossed pattern of triangle on edges. The bag is closed via a hand-hammered wrought pin. You can choose the following colour combinations: brown-black (see the photo), black-brown, natural colour-brown. Please specify your choice in your message for us.
Please note: This product is made by hand from genuine leather. This is a purely natural material. Minor differences in the colour and surface texture are its natural characteristics. These small imperfections do not decrease the value of the product. Each piece is to some extent an original.
In the case of hand-forged blade our blacksmith takes the already rolled spring steel and forges it with hand on the anvil or under the monkey (drop hammer). By forging becomes the steel more compacted (denser). Industrially rolled spring steel blades are made by cutting steel plate into strips under drop shears. Then they are ground or milled/grooved and without further forging directly put into the annealing furnace and hardened in oil bath. The qualities of both kinds of blades do not differ from each other much since the industrial rolling is already very good. On forged blades usually have forge traces, which give them an authentic and unique look.
