Why Use a Helmet Stand?

This stand is not just about aesthetics, but primarily about the proper maintenance of your armour. After wearing, the helmet's inner padding is often damp with sweat. If you place the helmet directly on a shelf, the padding dries poorly and can start to mould or smell. Placing it on a stand ensures air circulation from below, which is crucial for hygiene and the longevity of the liner.

The second reason is the protection of accessories. If your helmet has a mail curtain (aventail) or cheek plates, placing it on a table causes unwanted crumpling and deformation of the rings or leather. With a height of approx. 36 cm (14.2 in), this stand provides enough space for these elements to hang freely, just as they should.

Material and Construction

The stand is made of solid wood and painted in a matte black finish. The construction consists of a stable square base, a central pillar, and a specially shaped top piece. This is designed to provide support for the helmet bowl without deforming the inner leather liner (spider) through point pressure, as narrow stands often do.

Product Care

The stand is virtually maintenance-free. Simply wipe it occasionally with a dry or slightly damp cloth to remove dust. Avoid using aggressive chemical cleaners that could damage the paintwork. The product is intended exclusively for indoor use; the wood could warp in a damp outdoor environment.
