Tabletop Stand for 2 Samurai Swords

Do you own a Daisho set (Katana and Wakizashi) or simply two favourite swords that deserve a place of honour in your home? Don't let them lie in a closet or lean in a corner. This high gloss tabletop stand is designed to provide a dignified presentation for your weapons while protecting them. Its elegant black "piano finish" fits perfectly into both modern and traditionally furnished interiors. However, the main advantage of this model is the red velvet inlay in the sword rests, which protects the lacquered scabbards (saya) from scratches when placing them down. Luxury High Gloss Tabletop Stand for 2 Samurai Swords with Red Velvet Inlay

Protection and Elegance in One

The stand is constructed from engineered wood with a precise finish. It is stable enough to hold even heavy functional swords. Thanks to the velvet lining, you don't have to worry about the beautiful lacquer of your precious katana being damaged by the hard edges of the stand. The red colour of the velvet also creates a beautiful and traditional contrast with the black lacquer of the stand and swords.

Sword Display Etiquette

Did you know how to correctly place a sword on a stand? Here are a few tips from history:

  • Edge Up: The sword is always placed in the stand so that the cutting edge (ha) points upwards. This protects the edge from dulling against the inside of the scabbard due to gravity.
  • Handle to the Left: If you want to signal peace and hospitality, the handle (tsuka) should point to the left. This makes drawing the sword with the right hand difficult (which would otherwise signal aggression or readiness for combat).
  • Daisho: If you are displaying a set of two swords (Daisho), the long sword (Katana) belongs on the top tier and the short sword (Wakizashi) on the bottom one.

Stand Care

Simply wipe the stand with a soft cloth to remove dust. Avoid aggressive cleaners that could dull the glossy surface. Keep the velvet inlay clean to prevent dust accumulation, which could act abrasively.
