Unique Sandwich Blade Construction

The blade of this knife is manufactured using technology that combines the best of modern and traditional materials. The core of the blade, i.e., its cutting edge, is made of hard 440C stainless steel. This steel is known for its ability to hold an edge for a long time and for its high durability. On this hard core, 35 layers of stainless Damascus steel are forged on each side (totaling 71 layers with the core). This process, often referred to as San Mai, not only gives the blade a beautiful pattern resembling contour lines or flowing water but also increases its flexibility and resistance to breakage.

Ergonomics and Design

The handle is shaped to fit perfectly in the hand and ensure a secure grip during work. The scales are made of noble burl (root) wood, which stands out for its hardness and deep, rich colour with distinctive "eyes" in the grain. The transition between the blade and the handle is formed by a massive guard made of stainless steel (or nickel silver), which protects your fingers from slipping onto the edge. The handle ends with a metal pommel featuring a lanyard hole, which you will appreciate when working at heights or over water.

Care for Your Damascus Knife

Although the knife is made of stainless steels, the Damascus structure and natural wood deserve care. Never wash the knife in a dishwasher! Aggressive salts would destroy the wood and damage the blade's etching. After use, clean the knife, rinse it with lukewarm water, and wipe it dry immediately. The wooden handle should occasionally be treated with linseed oil or wood wax to prevent it from drying out and to maintain its lustre. Keep the leather sheath clean and supple using leather care products.

Safety Warning

The knife is supplied with a sharp blade. Exercise increased caution when handling it. For safe carrying, the included leather sheath with a snap button strap prevents the knife from falling out and protects the edge from dulling. Use the knife exclusively for cutting, not for prying or throwing.
