How to Care for Your Leather Quiver
For this beautiful piece of leather equipment to serve you for many years, it requires regular care. Natural leather tends to dry out over time, so we recommend occasionally treating the quiver with a high-quality leather balm containing beeswax, or with leather oil. The balm nourishes the material, softens it, and helps protect it from moisture. Bear in mind that the leather may darken slightly after the application of the balm, which is a completely natural process that gives the product a nice patina. If you get caught in the rain with the quiver, always let it dry slowly at room temperature. Under no circumstances should you dry it directly near an open fire, on a hot radiator, or in intense sunlight – the leather would irreparably stiffen and crack.
Practical Tips for Wearing and Safety
A back quiver is worn slung over the shoulder so that the fletching of the arrows protrudes behind your dominant shoulder. Adjust the length of the strap using the brass buckle so that you can reach the arrows comfortably and the quiver does not restrict your movement or when drawing the bow. When moving through dense forest or undergrowth, be careful not to catch the fletching on branches – this could damage the feathers, or you could unintentionally lose arrows from the quiver. When drawing, make sure you do not pull more than one arrow out of the quiver at once and injure yourself or someone around you with a broadhead, if you are using such arrows.
