Built for Rough Handling
The blade is hand-forged from carbon steel and features a wide fuller, giving it a historical appearance and slightly reducing weight. However, what you will appreciate most from a practical standpoint is its assembly. The blade tang passes through the entire handle and is secured at the end of the pommel with a double-screwed connection. This is a huge advantage for stage combat—if the crossguard loosens after hard clashes (which happens with most swords), you simply take a wrench, tighten the nut, and the sword is rock-solid again.
The grip is wrapped in black leather and features a central riser for better hand orientation. The massive steel pommel, shaped like a profiled pear, serves as a counterweight to the heavy blade.
Safety and Usage Recommendations
This sword features a blunt edge (approx. 2.5 mm) and a rounded tip, which are essential parameters for safer fencing. The manufacturer declares it "suitable for fencing," but at Outfit4Events, we play fair: no warranty is provided against blade breakage. Due to the higher weight of the sword, immense kinetic energy is generated during swings. Therefore, we STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST using it for full-contact tournament combat (buhurt) against other heavy weapons, where material fatigue is a risk. It is excellent for:
- Technique training and drills (great for building muscle).
- Choreographed stage combat (theater, film) where you control the force of impact.
- An impressive accessory for a knight or mercenary costume.

Care Instructions
Carbon steel is not stainless, so it requires your attention. Wipe the sword with a dry cloth after every training session and oil it (e.g., with WD-40 or gun oil). Thanks to the screwed pommel, you can easily disassemble the sword, clean it even in spots under the guard, and reassemble it. Check the tightness of the nut before each use.
A back scabbard or a sturdy belt frog might come in handy with this sword, as carrying 2.4 kg in your hand all day is quite a workout.
