Single Samurai Sword Stand

Are you looking for a place for your katana that would underscore its beauty while providing maximum protection? This single-tier tabletop stand combines elegance with functionality. Its surface is treated with a high-gloss black lacquer, reminiscent of a grand piano finish. However, what distinguishes this model from ordinary stands is the striking red velvet lining. This is found not only in the sword holders but also on the underside of the feet. The combination of black and red looks dramatic and traditional, perfectly in keeping with samurai aesthetics. Single Samurai Sword Stand – High Gloss Black with Red Velvet

Maximum Protection for Sword and Furniture

Thanks to the thick layer of soft red velvet in the stand's forks, you don't have to worry about scratching the lacquered scabbard (saya) of your sword when inserting or removing it. The same care has been taken to protect your furniture – the bottom of the stand is also lined with red felt/velvet, which prevents slipping on the table and scratching the surface of your dresser or display cabinet. The stand is wide enough (37 cm / approx. 14.5 inches) to ensure stability even for heavier and longer swords.

Etiquette and Placement

This type of stand (Katanakake) is intended for the horizontal display of the sword. Remember that the edge should always face upwards to avoid dulling against the inside of the scabbard. The glossy black colour combined with the blood-red velvet makes this stand a distinct design element that draws attention to the weapon, whether it is a sharp katana, an iaito, or a practice bokken.

Stand Care

The glossy surface is prone to fingerprints and dust. For cleaning, use only a dry and very fine microfiber cloth to avoid scratching the lacquer. If the velvet parts get dusty, simply blow them off gently or use a lint roller.

You might find a traditional sword cleaning kit useful with this stand, ensuring your blade shines as brightly as the lacquer of this base.
