English Medieval Leather Belt with Bow-Shaped Cast Buckle
Historical Context and Proper Wearing
The design of this belt is based on historical sources and finds of clothing accessories of English provenance from the High Middle Ages. A typical element is the elegant bow-shaped metal buckle (the so-called D-buckle), which represented a very popular and practical method of fastening across social classes. The belt is classically worn fastened at the waist. If you choose a longer variant, we recommend looping the loose end under the fastened strap and letting it hang elegantly vertically straight down to achieve a maximally authentic look. You can easily hang a standard leather pouch, a coin purse, or a scabbard with a medieval dagger on the 3 cm (approx. 1.18 inches) wide strap.
Leather Belt Care and Safety Principles
In order for the natural cowhide to remain supple and strong for many years, it requires regular maintenance. We recommend treating the strap at least twice a year with a high-quality leather balm containing beeswax. If you get caught in the rain on your campaign and the belt gets wet, always dry it exclusively slowly at room temperature. Strictly avoid drying it on a hot radiator, with a hair dryer, or in dangerous proximity to an open fire – the leather would irreversibly dry out, harden, and crack. From a safety perspective, remember that this is a historical clothing accessory. Never use the belt as a securing element when abseiling, climbing, or for tying excessively heavy loads.

Customisation and Recommended Accessories
You can freely choose the length of the belt from the available variants. Moreover, if you provide us with your exact waist circumference (measured over your costume) in the order notes, the holes in the belt will be punched exactly to your measure so that it fits you perfectly. To complete your medieval gear, we highly recommend purchasing a leather coin purse and a reliable medieval dagger to go with this belt.
