Men-at-arms looked for the banner of their Knight Banneret to locate their commander and regroup. Losing a banner often triggered confusion and retreat. - Drying and Ironing: Air dry only; do not tumble dry or leave in direct intense sunlight to avoid fading. Iron on a medium cotton setting, preferably ironing the satin appliqués from the reverse side or under a thin press cloth.
- Fire Safety: Cotton and satin are flammable materials. Keep the banner away from open campfires, flying sparks, and torches.
