An important rule to remember: a right-hander draws the sword over the right shoulder, so the carrying strap runs over the left shoulder to the right hip. We recommend regularly treating the leather with a high-quality beeswax leather balm to keep it supple and resistant to moisture. Occasionally rub the hand-forged buckle lightly with oil to prevent corrosion.

Safety and Important Warnings

We strongly warn against carrying and drawing weapons with a sharp blade from this scabbard. When drawing a sword from your back, you do not have full visual control over the blade, and there is a serious risk of slicing through the leather and injuring your neck or shoulders. Carrying sharp weapons is entirely at your own risk. Never insert a wet or muddy sword into the scabbard, as the moisture trapped inside the leather would quickly cause the steel to rust. Never dry leather products near an open fire or on a hot radiator, as the leather will irreversibly harden and crack.
