Late Gothic fashion, and particularly the Burgundian court fashion of the late 15th century, featured layering and the ostentatious use of expensive fabrics such as luxurious velvet or heavy brocade. Wide sleeves falling almost to the floor and fur trims were privileges of the nobility, clearly demonstrating to onlookers that the wearer did not have to perform any manual labour. Children's fashion in the Middle Ages did not exist in the modern sense – the clothing of children and adolescents faithfully copied the cuts and style of adult clothing. Today, this dress is an ideal choice for young participants in historical reenactments, family LARPs, or as a stunning costume for a stylish family photoshoot in a castle courtyard.

Material and Proper Care

To ensure the dress looks luxurious for a long time and retains its shape and colour, it is made from high-quality materials. The main part consists of 100% cotton velvet, which is soft to the touch, while the hems of the sleeves and skirt are decorated with faux fur. The wedge in the skirt is sewn from a decorative patterned fabric.

• Washing and Cleaning: Due to the combination of velvet and faux fur, professional dry cleaning is exclusively recommended. Machine washing could irreversibly damage the fur trims and the fine pile of the cotton velvet.
• Drying and Ironing: Never dry the dress in a tumble dryer or near a direct heat source. Ironing velvet requires caution; we recommend smoothing out any creases only by light steaming from a distance, or by ironing strictly on the reverse side on the lowest heat setting over a damp cloth.
• Cleaning and care of costumes

The golden hair net (caul) shown in the photographs is not included in the delivery. We highly recommend purchasing a simple leather belt and medieval leather shoes for children from our selection, bringing the overall historical look to absolute perfection.

After completing your order, we will ask you to carefully fill out our measurement chart. Upon request, we will gladly manufacture the dress for you in other colours according to our fabric swatches.
