Historical Context and Usage

This uniform faithfully reflects the equipment of the United States Army (Union) during the American Civil War from 1861 to 1865. The dark blue sack coat combined with lighter trousers was the standard issue for Northern troops. The yellow piping and braiding on the chest and high stand collar, as well as the crossed sabers on the hat, historically denote the cavalry branch. The trousers are intentionally sewn with a looser fit around the thighs, providing soldiers with the necessary comfort during long hours in the saddle, ensuring the fabric did not pinch or restrict movement.

Today, you can perfectly utilize this complete outfit for historical reenactments, themed airsoft and paintball battles, LARP events, or as a premium theatrical costume. However, please note that this is historical clothing and not protective armor. Always prioritize your personal safety during stage fencing or combat demonstrations, and use hidden modern protectors under the uniform if necessary.

Material, Composition, and Proper Care

To achieve the most authentic look and a long lifespan, the uniform is tailored from a combination of high-quality materials. The sturdy coat is made of warm wool fleece/broadcloth (100% wool), while the trousers and other textile parts utilize 100% cotton. Thanks to the wool, the coat has excellent temperature-regulating properties and can even withstand light rain.

• Woolen Coat (Wool Fleece): We highly recommend professional dry cleaning only. Machine washing could shrink the wool and damage the structure of the coat and its decorative braiding.
• Cotton Trousers: Can be washed gently by hand or in a washing machine on a delicate cycle at a maximum temperature of 30 °C (86 °F). Do not use bleach and avoid tumble drying. You can iron on medium heat.
• Hat: If it gets dusty, simply wipe it lightly with a dry, soft clothes brush.

Important Note: The white cuffs you see in the photograph are actually tall riding gauntlets, which are not included in the delivery. Likewise, the leather belt with a brass buckle, the revolver holster, the cavalry saber, and the tall leather boots with spurs are for illustrative purposes only.
