Excalibur Rope Cocking Aid – Manual Crossbow Device with T-Handles

Excalibur Rope Cocking Aid – Manual Crossbow Device with T-Handles
New

If you own an Excalibur recurve crossbow, this rope cocking aid is an absolute necessity that will significantly simplify your life on the range and in the field. The primary benefit is the reduction of felt draw weight by a full 50%, meaning even an extremely powerful crossbow becomes a comfortable companion for all-day shooting sessions. Beyond saving your muscles, this tool serves another critical function: it ensures perfectly symmetrical string alignment. Only a string drawn precisely to the centre guarantees maximum accuracy and consistent groups, something that is nearly impossible to achieve when cocking by hand. This set is delivered in an unassembled state, providing you with the unique opportunity to customize the rope length perfectly for your specific crossbow model – whether you are shooting a compact Micro series or the more robust Matrix line. The heavy-duty T-handles fit perfectly in the hand and won't cut into your fingers even under high limb resistance. High-quality components, such as rollers with brass bushings, ensure smooth operation and long-lasting durability even with tough use in the outdoors. Further product information ...

How to Properly Set Up and Use the Cocking Aid

Since the cocking aid is delivered unassembled, the first step is to thread the rope through the handles and hooks so that it forms a closed loop with knots inside the handles. You can find the correct length when the handles are under slight tension while the hooks are on the string and the rope is routed behind the groove on the stock (or behind the scope on older models). When cocking, ensure the hooks are facing upward and as close to the rail as possible to prevent the rope from fraying against the stock. Once the string is locked in the trigger mechanism, remove the cocking aid immediately.

Product Care and Safety Warnings

To ensure your cocking aid serves you for many years, regularly inspect the condition of the nylon rope. If you notice the rope beginning to fray, replace it immediately – a rope snapping under full draw can be dangerous for you and the crossbow. You can occasionally lubricate the rollers in the hooks with a drop of oil for smooth rotation. Never set the rope too long, or you will lose the advantage of the 50% force reduction in the final phase of the draw. Avoid contact between the rope and sharp edges or hot surfaces.

Recommended Accessories

For smooth movement of the rope over the stock, I recommend using high-quality string wax, which you can also lightly apply to the cocking rope itself to increase its moisture resistance. To keep your cocking aid always at hand, consider getting a stock-mounted accessory pouch. For safely de-cocking the crossbow after a hunt without needing to fire a bolt into the ground, a decocking bolt is the perfect additional tool.
