Design and Features
This monk's robe is crafted from 100% cotton (twill weave), ensuring durability and a high-quality look—far superior to cheap carnival costumes. The set consists of two separate pieces:
- The Under-Habit (Tunic): A floor-length robe in a natural (cream/off-white) colour with long sleeves and a simple round neckline. It is cut generously to allow for unrestricted movement.
- The Outer Scapular: A black tabard-style overgarment with a generous hood. It is open at the sides and ties at the waist with strings, allowing for an adjustable fit. The hood is deep enough to conceal your face for that mysterious look.
This design allows you to layer the costume according to the weather or the character you are portraying. To complete the look, we recommend accessorising with a leather belt or rope, period shoes, and a wooden cross (please note that these accessories are not included).

Historical Context: The White Monks
The colour combination of a natural white habit and a black scapular strongly references the Cistercian Order. Separating themselves from the Benedictines ("Black Monks"), they adopted habits made of undyed wool, earning them the nickname "White Monks". The black scapular originally served as a work apron to protect the lighter undergarment during manual labour, which was central to the order's life. In the realms of LARP and fantasy, this robe is ideal for portrayals of healers, clerics, or even dark cultists.
Care Instructions
To keep your robe looking its best, please follow these washing instructions carefully. Machine wash at a maximum of 40°C (104°F) on a gentle cycle. It is crucial to wash the light habit and the black scapular separately. The black dye in natural fabrics can bleed during the first few washes and will permanently stain the light-coloured fabric if washed together. Do not tumble dry.

To find your correct size, please measure your chest circumference horizontally at the widest point. If you fall between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger one for better comfort.
