Ballistol is a well-known name in the world of maintenance. It was originally developed for the Imperial German Army in 1904 as the only product for preserving, cleaning, and lubricating the metal and wooden parts of rifles and leather equipment. Today, Ballistol convinces you with its four key properties:

• Cleans and dissolves dirt: Easily removes old grease, rust, gunpowder residue, resin, and other contaminants.
• Protects against corrosion: Creates an alkaline protective film that neutralizes acid residues (e.g., sweat) and reliably prevents rusting, which is crucial for your swords, armour, and buckles.
• Lubricates and makes things slide: Ensures smooth operation, is highly resistant to aging, and does not resinify (harden) even after years.
• Cares for and regenerates: Ideal for leather (belts, boots, bags) and wood (handles, grips). It softens, waterproofs, and adds shine to leather. It regenerates wood and protects it from moisture and rot.

Application and Proper Use

Ballistol comes in a practical 100 ml (approx. 3.4 fl oz) bottle with a dispenser tip, allowing for precise application. Use is extremely simple:

1. On Metal (Weapons, Armour, Tools): Apply a thin layer of oil to the clean surface, let it sit briefly, and wipe off the excess. This ensures long-lasting corrosion protection.
2. On Leather: Massage the oil into dry leather. It softens, regenerates, and makes the leather water-resistant and flexible (Note: the colour of the leather may darken).
3. On Wood: Rub it into wooden handles or grips to protect them from moisture and highlight the wood grain.

Furthermore, Ballistol is biodegradable and environmentally friendly. Due to its purely natural composition (based on mineral oils with natural plant additives), it is even safe for skin and dermatologically tested, which you will appreciate when handling weapons you hold in your hands. However, never heat it or use it with hot liquids.
