Leather Belt with Hand-Forged Buckle, Early Medieval, Spirals

Honest Craftsmanship and Authentic Design

Every detail of this belt attests to its quality and historical inspiration.

  • Hand-Forged Buckle: The buckle is crafted from solid iron and its surface is blackened to protect it from corrosion and give it an appropriately raw look. The two large, hand-formed spirals are not just for decoration—they hark back to the art of the Iron Age, where the spiral symbolised eternity, growth, and the solar cycle.
  • Quality Leather: The belt is made from tough buffalo leather over 3 mm thick. It is drum-dyed, ensuring the colour penetrates deep into the material and won't rub off as easily as with surface-dyed belts.

A Necessity for Every Warrior

This belt is not just for show. Its width of nearly 5.3 cm and sturdy construction make it the ideal load-bearing element for all your gear at a LARP, battle, or historical festival. You can easily hang a sword frog, axe holder, drinking horn, or a pouch of treasures from it. Furthermore, the long versions of the belt allow for the traditional way of wearing it with the free end knotted and hanging down, as was common in the early Middle Ages.

How to Care for Your Belt

Protect the leather from prolonged soaking. If it gets wet, let it air dry at room temperature. You can treat it with a leather balm from time to time. The iron buckle is protected against corrosion, but in a damp environment, an occasional light coat of conservation oil will do no harm.
