A Piece of History on Your Arms
In the 16th century, the craft of the armourer reached its pinnacle. Armour was no longer just functional protection but also a powerful **symbol of status and wealth.** The Gothic style, characterized by its sharp lines and fluting, not only looked elegant but also increased the strength of the plates and was more effective at deflecting the cuts and thrusts of enemy weapons. Every element, from the pauldron to the vambrace, was designed to offer the best possible protection for vulnerable areas while allowing a knight to fight effectively on foot or horseback.
A Knight's Tale
The decorative, flower-shaped rondel on the elbow is not merely for show. These side-shields, typical of Gothic armour, served as crucial extra protection for the vulnerable inner elbow joint, particularly against blows from the side. Their intricacy often reflected not only the style of the time but also the owner's personal wealth.

How to Care for Your Armour
The steel used here is not rust-proof and may show slight surface tarnishing. To keep your armour in beautiful and functional condition, we recommend regular maintenance. Wipe it dry after each use and apply a thin coat of oil, such as Ballistol. Store it in a dry environment to ensure it serves you well in many battles to come.
