Construction and How to Wear

Unlike modern trousers, medieval hose consist of two separate legs. This design offers unparalleled freedom of movement, which is essential for fencing or combat. Because they are separate, they must be suspended to stay up.

At the top point of each leg, you will find eyelets. You need to thread a cord or "point" (often with a brass tip called an aiglet) through these eyelets and tie them to a belt or, for better historical accuracy, to your braies (medieval linen underwear). This suspension system distributes the weight evenly and prevents the hose from slipping down during activity.

Material and Care

We use recycled wool to reduce environmental impact while maintaining the authentic texture and thermal properties of wool. To keep your hose in top condition:

• Hand wash only in cold water using a detergent suitable for wool.
• Do not bleach and do not tumble dry.
• Dry flat to prevent the wool from stretching out of shape.
• If ironing is necessary, use a warm setting, preferably with a damp cloth between the iron and the fabric.

Please Note: This product includes a pair of wool hose (left and right leg). The linen underwear (braies), boots, and tying cords (points) shown in the photos are not included and are sold separately.
