The History of the Legendary Ballistic Oil
In 1904, the German Imperial Army commissioned scientist Friedrich Klever with a difficult task: to develop a universal oil that could reliably clean and maintain the metal parts of weapons, preserve wooden stocks and soldiers' leather gear, and also serve to treat minor wounds in harsh field conditions. The result was the so-called Ballistic Oil (hence the abbreviation Ballistol). Because it is based on medically pure white oil, making it completely harmless and even safe for contact with food, it very quickly found its way into ordinary households and workshops. The modern formula retains these fantastic historical properties to this day.
Proper Aerosol Use and Maintenance Tips
This universal spray is absolutely ideal for quick and even application. It is excellently suited for lubricating screws, hinges, cleaning weapons after shooting, or for surface waterproofing of leather belts. Shake the can thoroughly before use, spray a fine layer of oil onto the treated surface, and let it sit briefly. For heavily rusted joints, you can leave the oil to work for several hours. Afterwards, wipe away any excess with a soft, dry cloth. Thanks to its aerosol form and high creeping capability, the oil penetrates even the smallest crevices, reliably displaces moisture, and does not thicken over time.
Crucial Safety Warnings and Shipping Restrictions
Always bear in mind that this is an extremely flammable aerosol! The container is under constant pressure and may burst if heated. Protect the spray from direct sunlight and under no circumstances expose it to temperatures exceeding 50 °C (122 °F). Completely avoid handling it near heat, hot surfaces, sparks, and open flames. Do not smoke during application, do not spray into an open flame, and do not pierce or burn the can, even after it is completely empty. Keep the product well out of the reach of children. Due to the presence of a pressurized container with flammable gas, air freight and export of this product to Switzerland are strictly prohibited.
