In 1904, the German Imperial Army issued a challenging commission: to develop a universal oil that could reliably maintain the metal parts of weapons, preserve wooden stocks and the leather gear of soldiers, and additionally serve to treat minor wounds in field conditions. The result was the so-called Ballistic Oil. Because it is based on medically pure white oil, making it completely harmless and even safe for contact with food, it quickly found its way into ordinary households, workshops, and hunters' kits. The modern formula retains these fantastic properties to this day, offering an ecological and environmentally friendly solution for maintenance.
Proper Use and Gear Maintenance Tips
This universal preservation spray is ideal for the regular care of edged and firearms, lubricating squeaky hinges, or waterproofing leather belts and wooden parts of historical armor. It can also effectively clean tarnished brass and copper. Spray a fine layer of oil onto the surface being treated, let it sit briefly, and wipe away any excess with a soft, dry cloth.
