Black Wooden Display Stand for Slanted Presentation of Collector Knives
Usage and Positioning of the Weapon
The stand is designed to present a single knife at a dynamic angle. The process of setting it up is very intuitive. At one end of the long base, there is a circular indentation where you securely rest the tip of the blade (or the end of the handle, depending on the weapon's centre of gravity and shape). You then simply place the other end of the knife into the notch at the top of the vertical peg. This creates a very stable and visually appealing slanted display that perfectly highlights both the blade's profile and the handle's texture. We strongly advise that the stand is supplied on its own and no knife is included in the package.
The Historical Context of Weapon Presentation
The custom of proudly displaying one's weapons has accompanied humanity since time immemorial. In the Middle Ages, knights and noblemen commissioned ornate stands and racks so that their precious swords and daggers could be admired by visitors in castle halls. While massive, richly carved wood and metalwork dominated back then, modern collecting often takes the path of minimalism. The simple black lacquer of this stand draws from the Asian tradition of sword presentation (kake), where a dark and unobtrusive background serves a single purpose – to emphasize the gleam of the steel and the perfect lines of the weapon itself.
Care for Lacquered Wood
The display stand is made of solid wood and finished with a layer of deep black lacquer. Maintenance is very undemanding but requires a gentle touch. Wipe away dust exclusively with a dry and soft microfibre cloth. Avoid using damp wipes, rough sponges, or aggressive chemical cleaners containing alcohol, which could irreversibly scratch or dull the lacquered surface, or cause the colour to fade.
Safe Display Guidelines
If you choose to display a sharp knife on the stand, exercise increased caution. Always place the stand on a stable, firm, and horizontal surface where there is no risk of it being accidentally knocked over by a draught or careless movement. It is absolutely vital to position the display strictly out of the reach of small children and pets. A sharp knife falling from a table or shelf presents a massive risk of serious injury and can also damage the blade itself.
