Historical Design and Practicality
Kidney pouches were one of the most common forms of personal luggage in the 14th and 15th centuries. In an age when clothing had no pockets, these pouches were used to carry coins, a flint and steel, personal trinkets, or food. They were an integral part of the attire for virtually everyone – from knights and soldiers to merchants and ladies.
For you at a LARP, battle, or re-enactment, it serves the same function. It keeps your hands free for your sword or shield, while safely stowing away modern valuables like a smartphone (as seen in the picture), car keys, or a wallet, all without breaking your historical immersion.

This pouch is handcrafted in Spain, a guarantee of quality materials and workmanship. The body of the pouch is made from soft and supple brown suede, which easily adapts to its contents. In contrast, the flap, fastening strap, and belt loop are made from strong and durable full-grain cowhide leather. Caring for Your Leather Pouch
To ensure your pouch serves you for as long as possible, it deserves proper care. If it gets wet, let it dry slowly at room temperature (never on a radiator or near an open fire, as the leather would harden and crack). Occasionally treat the smooth leather parts (flap, straps) with a leather balm or conditioner to keep them supple. The suede part can be carefully cleaned with a special suede brush if it gets dirty. Never wash the pouch in a washing machine or use aggressive chemical cleaners.
