The origin of this world-famous sword lies not in historical battlefields, but in the mythical Hyborian Age—the fictional universe created by writer Robert E. Howard and immortalised in the 1982 cult movie Conan the Barbarian. In the story, Conan discovers this ancient blade inside a flooded subterranean tomb resting on the lap of a mummified warrior king, wielding it as his primary weapon on his path to vengeance.

The massive blade is crafted from AISI 440 stainless steel, offering excellent corrosion resistance and minimal maintenance requirements. A standout feature of the blade is its wide ricasso, deeply etched with ancient mystical runes. These runes carry the famous oath of Conan's father and the deity Crom: “Suffer no guilt, yee who wield this in the name of Crom”.

The intricately detailed hilt is cast from Zamak metal alloy with an antiqued bronze patina. The crossguard showcases sculpted beast heads and ancient motifs, while the heavy pommel is crowned with a striking human skull design. The grip is wrapped in thick textured cord for an authentic look and firm tactile feel. The blade's tang is welded inside the hilt assembly, securing the components for display purposes.

The name Atlantean refers to the mythical sunken continent of Atlantis. In Howard’s lore, the Atlanteans were the ancient ancestors of the Cimmerians, Conan's people. Finding this blade in a prehistoric crypt symbolized Conan reclaiming the ancient martial heritage of his barbaric forebears.

It is not designed or intended for any form of swordplay, combat reenactment, HEMA sparring, or test-cutting. The welded tang construction and stainless steel properties cannot endure mechanical impacts; attempting to strike targets could cause the blade to shatter or detach from the hilt, leading to serious injury.

The AISI 440 stainless steel blade does not require heavy oiling. Keep it clean by dusting periodically with a soft microfibre cloth to remove dust and fingerprint oils. Clean the bronze-finished hilt gently with a dry cloth, avoiding harsh chemicals that could ruin the antique patina finish.
