Gothic Leather Boots with Rear Buckles and Pointed Toes
Craftsmanship and Historical Context
These boots are made from high-quality bovine leather (cowhide), ensuring they are sturdy yet flexible enough for all-day wear. During the Gothic period, elongated toes – known as crakows or poulaines – were a major fashion statement among the nobility. Our design captures this distinctive silhouette while maintaining practical proportions that allow for easy movement.
The rear fastening system is a brilliant marriage of form and function. By placing the buckles at the back, the front of the boot remains clean and elegant, highlighting the natural grain of the leather. The contrasting texture of the turned-down cuff adds a layer of sophistication suitable for knights, merchants, or wealthy townspeople.

Maintenance and Safety Guidelines
Your boots come pre-treated with a beeswax leather balm. To keep the leather supple and water-resistant, we recommend cleaning them after each use and applying a quality leather conditioner or shoe cream. If you choose the leather sole, be mindful that it can be slippery on wet grass or polished stone floors.
Safety Note: The pointed toes extend beyond your natural foot length. We advise practicing walking in them, especially on stairs or uneven terrain, to avoid tripping. These are designed for Re-enactment, LARP, and theater; they are not intended for heavy full-contact combat (like HEMA or Buhurt) without additional protective reinforcements.
Recommended Accessories
These boots pair perfectly with wool hose or a tailored doublet. For long-term care, we recommend using a leather balm with natural waxes to protect against the elements. If you use orthopedic insoles, consider our "made-to-measure" option to ensure a perfect fit with your inserts included during the manufacturing process.
These shoes are approx. 33cm high. This means the total height including the sole up to the upper edge of the shoe. Unfortunately, this specification cannot be changed.
These shoes are available in standard EUR sizes. If you select the size "made-to-measure", they will be manufactured according to this measurement chart. Please fill it in after you finish your order.
Care of the Gothic leather high boots
The shoes are treated with a balm containing beeswax. The shoes are made of genuine leather. You can treat them with various shoe care products. The balm softens the leather soft and waterproofs it. Moreover, it makes the leather darker. If you do not have the balm, you can also use oil for leather or a normal shoe polish. The shoe polish can easily tone the leather colour and cover minor imperfections (e.g. scuffed shoe tips).
Note on the size selection "made to measure": If you order tailor-made shoes from us and wear orthopaedic insoles, it is necessary to send them to us. The shoe manufacturer infixes the shoe inserts exactly and you can then look forward to the shoes fitting perfectly.
