Maintenance and Safety Tips
A compound bow is a precision instrument and requires your attention. The most important rule: Never dry-fire the bow! Shooting without an arrow causes the energy to be absorbed by the limbs and cams instead of the projectile, leading to catastrophic failure and risk of injury. Regularly wax the string with bow wax to prevent fraying. Occasionally check the tightness of all screws and accessories. Store the bow in a dry place and avoid extreme heat (like a hot car interior).
Recommended Arrow Specifications
To get the best performance from your Aurora, I recommend the following arrows:
- Length: 30 inches (suitable for most draw lengths).
- Material: For draw weights over 45 lbs, I recommend carbon arrows as they are stiffer and faster.
- Spine: Ideally 400 for a setup around 50 lbs.
- Tip: Screw-in field points weighing 100 or 125 grains.
