This type of hat, featuring a taller crown and a shorter brim, draws inspiration from headwear worn in the 17th century. Its cut evokes the dark era of the Thirty Years' War, the Puritans, as well as dreaded witch hunters and highwaymen holding up stagecoaches. Practical Use and Leather Care
To ensure the hat serves you for many years and retains its unique shape and appearance, proper leather care is essential. Never wash the hat in a washing machine, and do not dry it in a tumble dryer or on a direct heat source (e.g. a radiator), as the leather could crack and be irreversibly ruined. If you get caught in the rain, simply let the hat dry naturally at room temperature. It is highly recommended to treat the leather regularly with high-quality beeswax or leather balsam to maintain its suppleness and water resistance. When handling the hat, hold it by the brim rather than the top of the crown to prevent deformation.
