The core of this model is a blade made from the highly popular D2 tool steel. This material is highly prized by knifemakers for its extreme wear resistance and fantastic edge retention. The blade, featuring a profile reminiscent of a modified Wharncliffe, is equipped with prominent cutouts that not only reduce the overall weight of the knife to a comfortable 150 g (5.29 oz) but also give it a futuristic look. The handle features scales made of G10 (a high-pressure fiberglass laminate bonded with epoxy resin). G10 is practically indestructible; it is unaffected by extreme temperatures, moisture, or chemicals, and thanks to its texturing, it provides an absolutely secure grip even when wearing wet gloves.
Safety and Everyday Carry (EDC)
For your maximum safety during heavy-duty work, the knife is equipped with a reliable internal Liner Lock mechanism. Caring for D2 Tool Steel
D2 steel is often referred to as semi-stainless. While it contains a high percentage of chromium, it falls just short of the threshold for true stainless steels. After use, especially if it has come into contact with moisture or acidic fruits, wipe the blade dry with a soft cloth. The ball bearings in the pivot will also appreciate a drop of lubricant to maintain their buttery-smooth action.
