The black prod, with an overall length of approximately 70 cm (27.56 inches), is equipped with a reinforced central wrapping that ensures a stable fit within the crossbow's nose (prod housing) and prevents material abrasion. Care, Maintenance, and the Fatal Danger of Dry Firing

To ensure your prod serves you reliably and safely for as long as possible, do not expose it unnecessarily to extreme temperatures (for example, do not leave the crossbow lying in a baking hot car) and always unstring the weapon safely after you have finished shooting. Always ensure a safe backstop when shooting, check the condition of your string, and never point the weapon at people or animals.
