Sword Holder with Coats of Arms of Knightly Orders, Templar Wall Plaque
A Tribute to the Great Knightly Orders
The design of the plaque, shaped like a classic Gothic shield, is rich with historical references and intricate details that will delight any history enthusiast:
- Solid Foundation: The shield is crafted from pressed wood fibre with a surface veneer and dark-stained edges. The face features a textured, dark blue background, evoking a sense of depth and nobility.
- Golden Cross: A solid golden cross divides the blue field into four quadrants. Two brass pegs are mounted on the cross to securely hang your sword.
- Coats of Arms of the Knightly Orders: Each quadrant displays a silver escutcheon with the cross of one of the great knightly orders:
- Top Left: The red Templar cross (cross pattée) – symbol of the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon.
- Top Right: The white Maltese cross on a black field – symbol of the Order of Hospitallers (Knights of Malta).
- Bottom Left: The red Jerusalem cross – symbol of the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem.
- Bottom Right: The red Cross of Saint James – symbol of the Spanish Order of Santiago.
- The Templar Motto: A golden ribbon winds around the blue field, bearing the Latin inscription: “Non nobis Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam,” which translates to, “Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory.”
- Easy Installation: A metal hanger is pre-installed on the back for simple and secure wall mounting.
