Historical Context: From Sailors to Workmen
Although the headscarf is inextricably linked to pirates of the Golden Age in popular culture, its historical use was much more prosaic and widespread. A simple piece of cloth tied around the head served craftsmen, sailors, and peasants as basic protection. - Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle (max 40 °C).
- For the wine red variant, we recommend washing separately the first time, as cotton may bleed colour initially.
- Air dry naturally; tumble drying may cause the fabric to shrink.
- If ironing is desired, use the cotton setting (higher temperature).
