This exquisite piece is carefully sewn from two types of velvet fabric, which gives it a magnificent, rich volume. The genuine velvet used, made of 100% cotton, ensures excellent breathability and is very pleasant to the touch. The artificial velvet, thanks to its elastane blend, helps the bonnet hold its shape perfectly. Upon your request, the bonnet can also be made in other colours according to these fabric swatches. Care and Safe Usage Guidelines

For this velvet treasure to serve you as long as possible and always look like new, it requires gentle care. We strongly recommend washing the bonnet exclusively by hand in lukewarm water (maximum 30 °C / 86 °F) using a very mild detergent designed for delicate fabrics. Never wring out the velvet by twisting; instead, gently press out the excess water into a clean terry towel. Dry it laid out flat on an even surface. Strictly avoid using a tumble dryer, which would irreversibly destroy the fabric's pile structure. Ironing is generally not recommended; if the fabric becomes slightly creased, carefully smooth it out with steam from the reverse side. For safety reasons, please remember that textiles are flammable materials – therefore, keep the bonnet at a safe distance from open flames, such as campfires, fire pits, or torches.

To create a complete and historically accurate bourgeois costume from the 15th or 16th century, we recommend pairing this bonnet with a high-quality linen chemise (underdress) and a richly pleated Renaissance overdress.
