What is a Recurve Bow and Who is it For?
This type of bow is called a recurve because its limbs curve away from the archer at the tips. This technology, historically perfected by the Mongols or Turks, allows the bow to impart higher velocity to the arrow even with a shorter overall weapon length. At 1.20 m (approx. 47 inches), this model is compact and easily portable. Note: The bow is constructed exclusively for right-handed users (you hold the bow in your left hand and draw the string with your right).
Package Contents and Usage
The set contains everything you need to get started. In addition to the camouflage bow itself, you will find a quiver that mounts directly onto the bow riser, so you have extra ammunition right at hand. Furthermore, the set includes two fibreglass arrows, an arm guard (to prevent the string from slapping your arm), and a finger tab (to protect your fingertips upon release).
Safety and Maintenance
Although this is a recreational bow, it is still a weapon.
- Never Dry Fire: Releasing the string without an arrow nocked can instantly destroy the bow limbs or snap the string because the energy of the shot has nowhere to transfer.
- Target and Background: Always shoot only at suitable targets and ensure there is a safe space (slope, wall) behind the target.
- String Care: Wax the string regularly with string wax to extend its lifespan.
