The entire boot is constructed from exceptionally strong cowhide leather. Special attention has been paid to the sole, which is made of thick leather, and the reinforced heel, which holds the foot firmly in the correct position. The stitching thread used is also extremely resilient, ensuring the seams are well-prepared for frequent and rigorous use. Thus, these sandals easily withstand the chaos of battle, long treks through nature, and the heavy wear of historical festivals.

Care Instructions And Colour Specifications

These genuine leather sandals require regular care to maintain their suppleness and durability. They are treated with a beeswax leather balsam right from the workshop. We recommend cleaning the leather after every demanding use and re-treating it with a high-quality balsam, leather oil, or standard shoe polish. Balsam softens the leather, adds a degree of water repellency, and slightly darkens its shade. Using a tinted shoe polish is an excellent way to cover up any scuffs (such as on the toe caps).

The base colours, such as black, dark brown, and light brown (natural), are dyed directly into the structure of the hide. If you select a different, non-standard colour, the shade is achieved by applying a special surface coating paint. Please note that this surface paint shares characteristics with patent leather – with frequent and extreme bending, it may crack or flake over time. These special colours are therefore more suitable for one-off events (like weddings) or occasional wear, where they will reliably fulfill their aesthetic purpose.

Our footwear is made from genuine leather of three basic colours: black, dark brown and light brown (also described as tan color). Any other color has to be applied in form of special covering varnish that has one important drawback. Cracks of the varnished leather may appear after some time of use. The varnish on mechanically strained parts may even crumble away. Please consider this fact before placing your order, as we cannot provide guarantee for the varnish for two years as usually. If you intend to use such shoes or boots just only once (e.g. for a wedding) or only several times a year, we assure you the shoes will serve you well and give you joy.

Care of the High Caligae "Real Warrior"

The shoes are treated with balm containing beeswax. The shoes are made of genuine leather. You can treat them with various shoe care products. The balm softens the leather soft and waterproofs it. Moreover, it makes the leather darker. If you do not have the balm, you can also use oil for leather or a normal shoe polish. The shoes polish can easily tone the leather color and cover minor imperfections (e.g. scuffed shoe tips).
