Function and Operation
The baton operates on a friction lock principle. A sharp flick of the wrist expands it to its full length of 53 cm (approx. 21 inches), causing the tubes to lock together via friction tapers. This gives you a solid bar to deflect attacks. To collapse the baton, you must release the friction lock by striking the tip vertically and firmly against a hard surface (e.g., concrete or stone). Never try to close it by pressing with your palm or against a soft surface.
