Historical Context: Why a Pick and Not a Fork?

You might wonder why the set does not include a fork. In the Early and High Middle Ages, table forks were a rarity (used mostly for serving or in Italy). The common diner cut meat with a knife and put it in their mouth with their hand or helped themselves with just such an eating pick (or pricker). Set Care
