Sport Catapult (Slingshot) with Extra Strong Rubber

Built for Precision and Power

The base of the catapult is a solid metal fork with a black finish, capable of withstanding strong tension. Unlike classic wooden catapults, this model offers an ergonomically shaped handle made of durable, smoked plastic. It is moulded to fit perfectly in the palm of your hand, ensuring a stable grip, which is crucial for accurate shooting. The projectile is propelled by an extra-strong yellow latex tubular band (approx. 7.6mm thick), ending in a sturdy leather pouch.

Historical Insight

While the classic shepherd's sling (David and Goliath) has accompanied humanity for thousands of years, the forked slingshot you see here is a relatively modern invention. Its creation was only made possible by Charles Goodyear's invention of vulcanised rubber in 1839. Since then, it has evolved from a child's toy into a respected sporting discipline with its own international tournaments.

Safety and Maintenance Guidelines

With this slingshot, you are holding a tool capable of generating significant energy. Therefore, always follow these safety rules:

  • Always use a safe backstop: Never shoot into open space. There must be a slope, bank, or wall behind the target to safely catch the projectile.
  • Check the rubber: Latex is a natural material that ages over time. Before every shooting session, check that the rubber is not perished or torn.
  • Storage: Store the catapult in a dark, dry place. UV radiation (sunlight) is rubber's biggest enemy and causes it to become brittle.
  • Never aim at people or animals. Serious injury may occur.
