Balearic Roman Greek Sling about 1500 A.D.

Genuine leather Braided Cords

The sling is a long-range weapon that was widely used from prehistoric times to the High Middle Ages. In its simplest form, it consists of a long strip of leather with a small bulge in the centre for the projectile. The slinger takes both ends of the sling in his hand, places a projectile in the bulge, swings the sling until it has reached a sufficiently high speed, then lets go of one end and the projectile flies out of the sling.

Around 1500 BC: The Talayotic culture, the Balearic version of the Bronze and Iron Ages, begins. The first finds of the stone throwers Els Foners Balears date from this period, who now used not only stones as projectiles, but also bronze and iron projectiles. Some of the bronze projectiles were engraved to taunt their opponents. Not only natural stones were used, but also specially carved stones.
