Precision Aluminium Arrow 29"

If you feel you have reached the limits of classic wooden arrows with your bow and are looking for a path to greater accuracy, this aluminium arrow is the logical step forward. It is designed for archers who demand consistent parameters for every shot. Thanks to the duralumin shaft, this arrow is significantly faster, straighter, and absolutely resistant to moisture compared to wood. You no longer have to worry about morning dew or an unexpected shower warping your ammunition. The blue anodized finish not only looks great but also makes it easier to find the arrow in the grass. With a length of 29 inches, it is an ideal choice for most adult archers using recurve and straight bows. Further product information ...

Precision Aluminium Arrow 29" – Anodized Blue

Features and Usage

Aluminium arrows (often referred to as ALU) form the golden mean between cheap wood and brittle carbon. This model is fitted with a steel target point, a plastic nock, and polymer vanes that ensure stable flight. Its main advantage is its weight. Compared to ultra-light carbon arrows, aluminium is slightly heavier. This might seem like a disadvantage, but the opposite is true – the higher weight gives the arrow greater stability, especially when shooting outdoors where there is a risk of crosswind. Wind easily blows light carbon off course, whereas this aluminium arrow holds its trajectory better. It is therefore an ideal choice for target shooting at distances of 18–30 metres (approx. 20-33 yards), both indoors and under the open sky.

Evolution of Archery: The Metal Age

While humanity relied on wood and reed for thousands of years, the 20th century brought a revolution in the form of aluminium alloys. For the first time in history, it was possible to produce a set of arrows where one piece was identical to the other, down to the hair or gram. This allowed archers to achieve groupings that medieval masters could not even dream of. Aluminium eliminated the natural irregularities of wood (knots, varying fibre density) and brought engineering precision to the sport.

Care and Important Warnings

Although aluminium is a durable material, it has its "Achilles heel" – plastic deformation. To ensure your arrows stay straight for as long as possible, pay attention to this advice:

  • Beware of Hard Targets: Upon impact with a wall, stone, or thick wood, an aluminium arrow will not shatter like carbon, but it will bend. A bent arrow will never fly accurately again. Therefore, this type of arrow is not suitable for complete beginners who often miss the target butt.
  • Retrieving Arrows: When pulling the arrow out of the target, ensure you pull it straight along its axis, not by "levering" it sideways. This could permanently bend the shaft.
  • Suitable Target Butt: Shoot only into quality foam or straw target butts that stop the arrow safely without damage. Damage caused by impact into unsuitable materials is not covered by the warranty.

For comfortable and gentle removal of arrows from the target, I recommend using a rubber arrow puller and wearing an armguard on your forearm.
